In motor applications, ferrite flexible magnets and neodymium flexible magnets are the two most common flexible strip materials.
Ferrite flexible magnets offer extremely low cost and good corrosion resistance, making them suitable for low‑power, cost‑sensitive motors such as toy motors and cooling fans.
Neodymium flexible magnets deliver several times higher energy product (1.5–8.5 MGOe) and torque density, making them the first choice for high‑performance motors such as EV drive motors and servo motors.
Both materials are available in flexible strip form to conform to rotor surfaces.
